New Blog

Like many developers, I know the problem of maintaining my own website only too well. The last update of my old site was in 2022. I’m starting a new attempt here. This includes the resolution to write more in general and to get more involved in social media (in the Fediverse, of course). Resolutions have a mixed reputation, but I’ve done rather well with them in the recent past.

In this blog I don’t just want to focus on technical topics, but also write about other things. Things that occupy me, that I think about. Infrastructure that I’m setting up. Projects I’m working on. Maybe this will become a kind of devlog for some things. Who knows.

After my old site was built with Hugo, I’m now back to Zola. When I experimented with Zola a few years ago, the software wasn’t quite ready yet. In the meantime, however, I am convinced. My first impression of software that is developed in Rust is usually positive.

I am aware that I will be breaking links with the changeover, as old content has not been transferred. A clean cut feels good to me right now. Since I don’t make any effort to track any statistics, visitor numbers, page views or similar, I don’t know how many views this will affect – I don’t care.
